Steven C. Peoples September 17, 1951 – September 25, 1999 Steven Peoples was a Deputy with the San Joaquin County (CA) Sheriff's Department assigned to the Patrol Division. He began his career with San Joaquin County in 1976. He really liked his job because he could help people at a time when they really need help. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and backpacking. Steve is our hero. He fought an incredible fight. He is a true warrior. He never gave up; he just kept on going, no matter what the doctors said. In fact, the cancer may have had a strong hold on his body, but Steve was still in charge. He did not leave us, until his/our business was complete. He was taking care of the boys and me up to the very end. We have been blessed to have such a wonderful man as such an important part of our lives. There is no other explanation for the way things have happened. The loss of my soulmate and the boys' incredible father is breaking our hearts, but we do have a sense of peace that somehow, sometime we will be okay.
